NYCHA community waste dives
NYCHA residents and staff, as well as surrounding community members, are welcome to attend and participate in upcoming Community Waste Dives, where you can take part in a ground litter clean-up, make arts and crafts, compete in a scavenger hunt and bingo games, all while learning about recycling, organics separation and waste reduction.
The community waste dives will be held on the grounds of NYCHA developments in the following Manhattan neighborhoods:
East Harlem: Wagner Houses, 451 East 120th Street, Monday, April 7, 2pm-5pm
West Harlem/Morningside: Grant Houses, Tuesday, April 22, 2pm-5pm
Chinatown/Lower East Side: Smith Houses, Saturday, May 10, 10am - 1pm
The NYCHA Community Waste Dives are being put on by the Manhattan Solid Waste Advisory Board, the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and NYCHA Tenant Association leaders, with generous support from the Sanitation Foundation.
